Game Walks

There is absolutely no better way to personally and physically interact with the African wild, than game walks. A bush walk gives guests the opportunity to get up close to a variety of game as well as learn more about their instincts, behaviour and tracks. Participants will also gain knowledge on birds, and different types of grass and trees.

Kilima Private Game Reserve and Spa offers a variety of daily bush walks – led by qualified and experienced rangers or trackers - catering for experienced as well as novice walkers. All game walks start daily after breakfast and vary between a relaxing hour-long casual walk.
Game walking rules and precautions:

  • Guests are not allowed to leave the camp and walk alone. As a safety precaution on individuals older than 16 can participate in the bush walks. Mini-bush walks led by a ranger or tracker around the camp are however available to those younger than 16.
  • Guests over the age of 60 are required to submit a medical certificate confirming they are in good health.
  • Participants must wear closed, comfortable shoes and neutral coloured clothing.
  • The ranger/tracker will use their discretion concerning anything that could pose a threat or jeopardise the safety of guests, these include the degree of fitness, agility and physical restrictions. (As stipulated by FGASA - Field Guides Association of SA)
