A male lion roar can be heard up to 8 kilometers, it's a sound that makes you shake in your boots. The sound wave of a lion roar can let your hair rise up, your blood run cold and it awakens something in your soul. The lion is the second largest cat on earth after the tiger and these masters of the bushveld are not called "The King of the Jungle" without good measure. Here at Kilima Game Lodge and Spa in Limpopo the king along with his queen and followers rules his kingdom.

Chocolate are a favourite for almost everyone and lots of different things have been mixed with chocolate. Nuts, raisins, mint, tropical fruit and even alcohol like rum and whiskey has been added in the past. Chili is not new to this, the heat in that is just enough as it really enhances the flavour of the chocolate.

Today I share a recipe with you that will have your dinner guests talking.

When going on a safari holiday in South Africa, one of the common yet still magnificent mammals you will come across is the giraffe (Giraffa camelopardalus). The giraffe stands between 3.5 and 5.5m high, weighs between 700 and 1400kg, with the average lifespan of 25 years.

At Kilima Private Game Reserve & Spa, on the 5th of July 2013, four of the gigantic graceful creatures visited the waterhole out onto which the lodge looks. Due to giraffes being browsers, they obtain moisture from the green leaves they eat and therefore will drink water every 2 to 3 days. The giraffe's brain can sit at about 5m above ground level and is situated about 2m away from the heart. When drinking water, they bend down and thus have specialised systems to control the blood flow to the brain preventing a huge head rush. These systems are found in the neck in the form of well adapted valves and networks of small capillaries that dilate and constrict to control blood flow to the brain.
