After meeting with Global Manager Communications Jermaine Craig from South Africa Tourism the following facts were raised. There are some areas in which we need to work with those international product suppliers with whom we also compete in the tourism market like the US, Australia and India. Competition brings out the best in all product suppliers, but cooperation is what is urgently needed, especially in the South African tourism market, where we have to work together to remove barriers to international travel and tourism. One of the aspects is the reliability of the South African product suppliers (accommodation); we need to focus to getting rid of the fly by night suppliers before they harm our industry.  

We need to and should harness technology to take the trouble out of travel and make it much easier. I am convinced that we will have implemented systems by 2014 where the international visitor can book direct with the lodges or hotels to avoid the high cost of the middle man. I am convinced that we will have implemented a e-visas, e-reservation systems that will improve security while also facilitating hassle-free travel.
